Business advisers - Experienced local business people

We are not a public sector organisation. Our business advisers all run their own businesses. As fellow business people, they empathise with clients. They help to solve problems with practical experience from having worked through similar problems with clients and in their own businesses. Most of our business advisors have also worked in and for larger organisations up to chief executive level. Their experience in specialist and senior roles allows us to deliver insights and skills that would not otherwise be available to West Wales’ small businesses.

Our business advisers are centred on Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire, and we also serve businesses in Ceredigion, Powys, Swansea, Neath and Port Talbot. Living and working in our communities, we serve other businesses like ours across West Wales.

 

  • Phil Corper

    Phil Corper started his career as a bank manager serving personal, small business and major corporate customers. Working for top global management consultancies, Phil then served a range of global multi-national clients which he continues to serve occasionally at main board level. Since moving to Carmarthenshire, Phil has set up several businesses including an audio drama business, a farm, a small guest house, and now West Wales Consulting. Today his consultancy clients are mainly medium sized, ambitious firms in West Wales seeking rapid growth or facing serious problems.

  • Bernard Edwards

    Bernard Edwards is an experienced chief executive and senior manager with a broad range of managerial, financial, marketing, IT and technical expertise. After directing major technology and communications services for the UK Army, he went on to assist with the foundation and growth of a number of technology based companies, heading several international businesses from Silicon Valley, across Europe and in the Middle East His clients have included leading international firms and government departments. In West Wales, Bernard is focusing on supporting smaller companies in Pembrokeshire with his practical and very deep experience.

  • Anson Allen

    Anson Allen has wide business experience including manufacturingManufacturing businesses, financial services, property development and farmingFarming businesses. After heading clothing manufacturing and property development companies, Anson emigrated to Australia where he worked in financial services and also found time to set up a nursing home business in the UK. Since relocating to Carmarthenshire, he has developed his project managementwe can help with all aspects of project management consultancy and helps small and medium sized businesses with business planning and financial planning.

  • Gary Loch

    Gary Loch spent his early career founding and building successful multi-media and event management businesses which he has since sold. Since moving to Pembrokeshire, Gary continues to serve some of his international clients with business communicationsbusiness communications services services, alongside supporting businesses in West Wales with technology and business advisory services. He has helped businesses like his own with his practical business, financial, and marketing planning skills and contributed robust views to help businesses focus on what is important to succeed.

  • Alex Warlow

    Alex Warlow is a specialist in delivering business advice to farms and foodFood businesses, fish and forestry businesses.  His BSc is in agricultureAgriculture Businesses.  He assisted many clients to obtain PMG and other grants and developed many business plans and financial forecasts.   He has conducted studies on logistics and marketing channels for Welsh food and other products, Welsh farmingFarming businesses co-operatives, added value food products and the food supply chain and diversified agriculture in Wales, Ireland and the rest of the EU.  One of Alex’ three degrees is in agriculture and he is a Member of the Institute of Direct Marketing

     

  • David Nicholson

    David Nicholson has 35 years experience as a senior manager with nationally known foodFood businesses processors including Heinz and Wall’s and as Managing Director of the Oriel Jones meat processing facility in Llanybydder and Senior Executive Officer of Dungannon Meats (now Dunbia).  David also has 6 years experience advising food, fish and forestry businesses. He is also a specialist food quality adviser, trainer and assessor, including the ISO 9001ISO 9001 accreditation certifies that formalized business processes are being applied 2000 accreditation.

     

  • Jim Bradbury

    Jim Bradbury has 20 years experience as a senior production manager with nationally known drinks producers including Britvic and plant manager setting up and running Brecon Beacons Natural Water. He is also a specialist in lean manufacturingManufacturing businesses and regulatory compliance and is a quality adviser, trainer and assessor to BRC standards, including the ISO 9001ISO 9001 accreditation certifies that formalized business processes are being applied 2000 accreditation.

  • Stefanie Rees

    Stefanie Rees specialises in employment and human resource processes and law, change managementwe can help put in place change management processes. mentoring, counselling and training.  She is a qualified counsellor and assessor for a number of accreditations including IIP, OCR, TDLB and SLH.  Stefanie has worked in Wales and internationally as a specialist adviser, and also has 23 years experience of advising on employment and human resources issues in the Civil Service, and as HR Director of an international IT business.  Stefanie is a Member of the Institute of Business Consultants and a Committee Member of the OCR awarding body.

  • James Cooze

    James Cooze specialises health and safety.  He has advised a wide range of clients including the CITB, Nortel, Westand Augusta and EADS and a large number of small and medium sized businesses in West Wales.  He undertakes health and safety risk reviews and provides health and safety training and advice with a particular focus on engineering, manufacturingManufacturing businesses, construction and building businesses. James is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health, a Member of the Chartered Institute of Building and of the Association of Project Safety, and an Affiliate of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health.

  • Dave Wood

    Dave Wood specialises in quality management

    The International Organization for Standardization's ISO 9001:2008 series describes standards for a QMS addressing the principles and processes surrounding the design, development and delivery of a general product or service

    .  He has advised a range of manufacturingManufacturing businesses and engineering clients to develop quality management systems and to gain ISO 9001ISO 9001 accreditation certifies that formalized business processes are being applied 2000 accreditations.  He has particular expertise in the aerospace sector and EASA accreditations.  He was previously quality manager with several aerospace engineering and other manufacturing businesses.
